Without a clear Will

  • Firearms can't simply pass to whoever — the recipient must be licensed, and they must be stored and transferred lawfully.

With a Will

  • You can leave firearms to a licensed person, or direct that they be sold or surrendered.

  • Your executor should contact the Police / Te Tari Pūreke about lawful transfer or surrender.
